Election Guidelines for 2022

Request an Absentee Ballot

We request that everyone votes absentee if they are able. Voting absentee is safe, easy, and protects community health.

Apply online at www.sos.mn.gov or the St. Louis County website if you are able.

They will send an Absentee Ballot Application to you by mail to complete and you should mail it back to St. Louis County.

Please make sure your voter information is complete on the signature envelope (name, address, ID number and signature).

Your returned ballot must be postmarked on or before Election day () and received by your county by the day before the county canvass, which may take place on the second or third day following the election.

You can keep track of your ballot status at: MNvotes.sos.mn.gov/abstatus/ .

Voting in Person

If you must vote in person at the town hall, the physical layout will be revised for the upcoming election:

  • Wear a mask (if you forget, we will provide one).
  • Everyone will enter through the main doors and be directed to the registration tables.
  • Voting booths will be spaced out but you vote as usual and insert your completed ballot in the ballot counting machine.
  • Please exit through the back exit door.

The tables and voting machine surfaces will be sanitized throughout the voting process.  Hand sanitizer will be available for voters to use.
